Reggae Santa Photos 2021
William Morris Community Centre

Event design, photography and design
Project Overview

The William Morris community centre's Reggae Santa event was a huge success, bringing joy and holiday cheer to the community while also supporting a great cause. The staff's creative twist on the traditional Santa Claus (also known as Walton the Caretaker) added an exciting and unique element to the event. Families were able to capture their memories with Reggae Santa and take home a special keepsake.

The community center is home to and was founded by a vibrant Afro Carribean community and an Elders Association (ACEA) and we worked with the centre to create a event that celebrates this history and creates a way for the public to engage with the location and community post Covid 19 lockdown.

Overall, the Reggae Santa event was a wonderful example of how creative thinking and community engagement can make a positive impact. The William Morris community centre's Reggae Santa event was a huge success, bringing joy and holiday cheer to the community while also supporting a great cause.
Our Contributions

With the assistance of Waltham Forest College creative students we ran two days where locals could come and get their photo taken with Santa.

The visitors were able to take home a printed photo of their visit to santa, a showbag with pencils and a colouring book (themed on the William morris community centre) created by designer Gail M Pearce.
